Cisco, DOD Move JRSS To cloud tech And Greater Automation | Latest News

Cisco Systems is working with the Pentagon on Joint Regional Security Stacks, or JRSS, to accelerate integration of increased computer automation, move to the cloud and improve data security, industry officials said.Such efforts, which include moving to a common standard architecture and intensifying artificial intelligence algorithms to detect malware and intrusions are less dependent on human intervention, said Carl De Groote, senior director of DOD at Cisco Systems."We created a common operating environment to crumble the old network architecture layer and deploy data in DOD'en," says De Groote.
De Groote also explained that this process uses multiprotocol labeling (MPLS) labeling to improve interoperability between networks. He says that this is designed to work both local data centers and out of place in the cloud.MPLS is designed to build shorter paths and greater efficiency between nodes on the network, making it easier to share information. Centralized network security in a regional architecture that is not a locally distributed system at any military or postal base, according to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)."Implementation of JRSS allows departments to examine data, take on threats and malware data on network and troubleshoot, patches, protect and defendnetworks," said a DISA statement. In some cases, computer automation repeats human behavior in an attempt to cheat and track cyber intruders Automation can give attackers the impression that the spores of human activity when they are tracked
Increased automation and AI are used to implement advanced security tools to speed up the detection of anomalies. Cisco is working to achieve the level of security required by the government under the name Impact Level 5 or IL-fifth "DOD can identify attacks faster and exchange information in a faster response. This gives cyber mission predictable environment. The next step is the ultimate safety management and traffic," he said.
In addition, jrss not only reduces the size of the hardware system, but largely allows better visibility of data moving through the network, said De Groote. "We are ready to assist them in the spirit of South East Europe (Joint Information Environment) to automate and standardize so that it can reduce the overall complexity of application delivery," said de Groote.
